Our Current Initiatives
WHAT WE DO

Sadbhavana Sabhas

Due to increasing divisions in society, based on religion, region, caste, gender, resources, and many other splits, Sadbhavana is needed more than ever today. We are holding public meetings in schools, universities, and communities to educate and inform citizens to promote sincere fellow-feeling in our communities.

BNA Scholars Program

As per the NITI Aayog evaluation report, a majority of JNV students aren’t able to reach their best potential due to the lack of information and financial resources. BNA is mobilizing an Rs. 5 Crores fund through collaboration and partnerships to ensure no students drop out of studies after passing 12th from JNV.

BNA Lives Matter Project

In response to the recent suicide cases in JNVs, BNA has constituted a task force of Psychologists and sociologists to undertake a trace-back study to understand the real cause of the suicides. We are also working with the experts from ‘Love Matters India’ an international non-profit to help us design and deliver counseling services to the JNV students.

'BNA Justice for JNV’ campaign

This is a campaign against the current fee structure in JNV schools. Public meetings to shape public opinion, FGDs to understand the point of view of different stakeholders, signing an online petition, signature campaign and filing a petition in a high court etc. are underway.

Supporting, promoting & incubating JNV alumni associations & initiatives

BNA was established with a deep belief in the power and potential of the JNV alumni network. We aim to support and promote district, regional and national associations and initiatives of JNV alumni from across India. We also incubate new associations in districts where there are no active associations yet.

‘All India Navodaya Youth Council’

We are identifying JNV youth in colleges & universities to unite them under an independent youth wing ‘AINYC’. This will serve as a platform for college-level JNV reunions, & support group for JNV alumni. We are also in talks with relevant authorities to make AINYC a political unit through which JNV alumni can contest college & university elections anywhere across India & be part of the mainstream politics.

Sadbhavana Activities undertaken

BNA has launched a nationwide program to rebuild Sadbhavana (sincere fellow-feeling) among people. Due to increasing divisions in society, based on religion, region, caste, gender, age, resources and many other splits, Sadbhavana is needed more than any time today. Towards this goal, the BNA has organised and will continue to organise Sadbhavana Sangams, a platform for concerned individuals, development workers and activists who may be active in any walk of life, to work to build Sadbhavana in their communities. The only requirement is that as long as they are aligned with our Constitutional Values and are willing to engage in a civil dialogue. In the Sangam meeting which lasts from 3 to 6 hours, they put across their views, share their concerns, exchange experiences and suggestions on Sadbhavana.
